DVD MANUFACTURING: AUTHORING SERVICES

MUSIC MANUFACTURING SERVICES has become a leader in DVD authoring over the past several years, with many satisfied corporate and individual clients. In the authoring process, we create the structure for navigation (usually menus and chapters) that a DVD user will experience while navigating a disk. Authoring determines which menus will be presented to the viewer to aid in navigation and which video will be played when the user selects a button.

At MUSIC MANUFACTURING SERVICES, we encode video and audio assets. In general, it’s best if you provide all of these assets at the same time, so that we can make the most efficient use of available disc space, and save you studio hours and money!

We first create a user interface, to access the content. Next we emulate how the final program will look, and finally we create a DVD-R or Digital Linear Tape (DLT).

What information do I need to provide for a quote?
Every DVD project is different ­ here are some of the questions your rep will ask when you first begin discussing a DVD project. In most cases, the answers to these questions will have a direct impact on the bit rate needed for a high quality DVD. They will also help determine how long the project will take, and therefore how much you can expect to spend!

• How long is your title?
• What format is the Source Master? (D1, Digital Betacam etc.)
• Will the disc contain any extras such as trailers, interviews, etc.?
• How many audio tracks will there be and in what configuration?
• How many menus?
• Will the disc contain a chapter or scene selection menu?
